The date was December 31, 2020, a Thursday. Throughout the day was really fun, and really exciting because it was our last day of distanced learning. If somehow you’ve been living in the past and you don’t know what happened in 2020, well it surely was a year for the history books. Anyways, I was so excited to go back to school, my friends were too. Since it was New Year’s Eve, we planned on celebrating together, celebrating the fact that we made it through. So that’s what we did. We all got together and celebrated at my house. Everyone spent the night, but something felt off. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but something just wasn’t right. As everyone else fell asleep one by one, I just couldn’t. I couldn’t stop thinking about that gut feeling that something was wrong. I sat there in my pajamas, listening to music. At that moment I felt alone. I felt like no one else felt it too, but that’s because they didn’t. I then was approached by one of my friends, or at least, who used to be my friend. After she approached me she said, “Mm, yeah. Sorry but we have to go.” I asked her why but she didn’t respond. She just stared at me, and I stared back into her ice cold blue eyes. One of our friends that was there looked just as shocked and confused as I was. While my friend that had once approached me gestured to everyone else that they should leave, she followed behind them. Everyone left except my one friend who was just as confused as I was.
