In multimedia Class of 2020 - 2021, we did a project called "In Pursuit Of... ". This project was about finding something that we are passionate about or in pursuit of. This project used my skills of photography and my passion for speaking out on subjects/topics that I have a strong opinion about. This image was both my first draft and final draft because I didn't see anything that I should change, and I still don't. I think these words speak for themselves, and that I won't have to explain this to most people.
This project was my favorite out of Multimedia this year. I enjoyed it, and it was fun how we got to use different styles of art with it. For my poster background photo, I chose my friends and myself, who are all very different, at a camp we went to a few years ago. The text that I put over the photo read, “Break The Media’s Stereotypes”. There are so many stereotypes for friend groups and for people in general that are usually just projected upon someone based on their appearance or their surface personality. So I liked that I had a voice and that I could use it in this project. I am most proud of the fact that I spent my time looking for the photo that I used, rather than giving up and choosing a different one. If I were to do something different next time, I would have taken better more recent photos and used those instead of a photo from a while ago. While I had tried to take photos more recent to the project, I couldn’t get any photos that were as good as the photo that I used. I felt as though this project was simple but still took just enough time for me to create a good product.

This photo is the my second In Pursuit Of... poster. I created this poster for my Photography & Creative Writing Elective. I actually liked this photo more because it represents something that I have been saying for awhile and no one has listened to me about. What I mean by "Family isn't your blood, they're the people you choose", is that your friends, pets, fictional characters from a movie or TV show can all be what you consider family as long as you choose them.
The purpose of the amplifier project was finding photos for something that we're passionate about and making a poster out of it. Some big questions we explored were, What did you think about when you thought of the “In Pursuit of” Theme? What are you in pursuit of? Is it people centered? Nature centered? In the beginning of this project, we took photos of things we were passionate about. Later in the project we used these photos to show our passion. In the end we made posters with the pictures we gathered and quotes that related to the message we wanted to relay. As our final product, we created a digital poster, where we took our favorite photo and the simplified message we are trying to get across, and we put them together to make the In Pursuit Of Poster.
