The logo project’s main purpose was to demonstrate our ability to describe line segments in multiple ways: point-slope and standard form. We created a design that represented something about ourselves, like a book for the avid reader, a sports team logo, or initials. To introduce math, we had to list 20 equations using inequalities, each describing a line on the design. Designs could be drawn by hand or generated digitally.
I enjoyed the logo project because it required precision, color, and creativity. There wasn’t any writing or reflection to go with it, so I spent all of my time working on drawing it out. I made quite a few drafts beforehand so that my final draft wouldn’t have any noticeable mistakes or pencil marks. I don’t think that I would have done this project differently at all. While there wasn’t any writing, there were math equations that we had to create and then solve, but those didn’t take me more than a class’s worth of time, so I finished them quickly. I am proud of the logo image that I chose, and the real effort that I put into this project.
